BORZOI BULLETIN
Our Weekly News Round
Sadly Our Dogs has ceased publication and with it the popular Breed Notes feature. The Borzoi Club will continue with weekly news here on our website, as long as there is news we will publish it. Your news is welcome, send notes, stories about your borzoi activities, photos! Each month the notes will be transferred to a .pdf that can be downloaded in order to free up space on the website. Thank you always for your support! Lorraine Harvey

The Borzoi Club standalone Championship show was held on the 4th October at the KC Building, Stoneleigh. Judge Beatrix Maerki Casanova (Switzerland) had a great entry of 75 dogs / bitches making 127 total entries across regular and stakes classes. Thank you to everyone for your support, the sales table was very well popular, sponsorship by Agria was very much appreciated. RBIS DCC went to Lena Hamel's Swe / Nor / Fin / Int Ch Zaprof's The Mythmaker who made the trip from Sweden for the show. Full results are on the home page as a marked catalogue.
Just 4 days later at South Wales Kennel Association Championship show two new Champions gained their crown under judge Yvonne Odell who was awarding CCs in borzoi for the first time. Congratulations to Carol and Peter Raczka who won BOB DCC with now Ch Jamarqui Alchemy Argent, who at 8 years old is a great credit to them and he also placed 4th in the Veteran Hound Group. From Rob Jackson who arranged a walk as part of the Great Greyhound Global Walk
"The Great Global Greyhound Walk We had a really good turnout of Borzoi for the Great Global Greyhound Walk at Cannon Hall Farm on 27th September. It was lovely to see so many old friends, along with some new faces joining us. All the Borzoi were very well behaved and did the breed proud. They took everything in their stride and seemed to enjoy meeting everyone and having a good walk together. It was a great day and a lovely opportunity to catch up with friends, have a chat and spend time together.
There was a really nice atmosphere throughout the day, with plenty of dogs and people enjoying themselves. It’s always good to see the Borzoi out together and meeting people who are interested in the breed. I believe Cannon Hall had the biggest turnout of hounds anywhere in the world for the walk, result! It was fantastic to see so many hounds and their owners all together, and our Borzoi certainly played their part.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such an enjoyable day. Hopefully we’ll see plenty of you again at our next walk. Clumber Park – 15th November Our next walk will be at Clumber Park on Sunday 15th November, and we’d love to see you there. The walks are open to all breeds, so friends and family with other dogs are very welcome to join us. We also welcome anyone who is interested in Borzoi and would like to come along, meet the breed and have a chat with owners. The walks are very relaxed and are a good opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet some new ones and, of course, give the dogs a good walk.
Full details of the Clumber Park walk can be found on the Borzoi Club and Northern Borzoi Association social media pages. So, bring your dogs, wrap up warm and come and join us. It would be great to see you there!"
